Are blackberries losing their touch ?

A recent survey where i live in the UK shows the Blackberry brand is stronger than ever, becoming the most popular smartphone in the country. Now im guessing this pissed off iPhone users really, taking th back seat to android and blackberries. In the United states the opposite is happening blackberries are becoming less and less popular with android and iOS devices increasing in popularity. perhaps americans are losing touch with blackberies because of their pricing, in the US you cant buy a phone on contract unlss that is a 2 yeara"agreement", and you have to pay seperate amounts for calls,texts and data, add in you have to pay your rebate and it becomes expensive to own a smartphone in the US with your monthly bill coming up to nearly $70 or more.

Here in the UK it is a much less convoluted and expensive place to own a smartphone, you can buy a mid to high end android device for as low as £100 and you dont need to buy it on contract, and the contracts start cheap and short (well shorter than the US) we used to have the option of 12 months , 18month and 24month ,but since the recession we have now obliterated 12 months, but some are 30 day contracts! and some cost as little as £15 per month, i mean you c an get a free phone for £25. but you can buy a blackberry curve 8520 for £130 on Pay as you go on any carrier with the BB services subtracting £5 of credit per month. Now heres the best bit ,all our data,minutes and terxts are an included package, no seperate billing for each and there is NO REBATE, we dont pay it because there isnt one here.

To sum up what im trying to say ere,  blackberries are becoming more and more popular in the UK becuase they are (relatively) cheap, and in america they arent becuase american's are getting bumped, you pay so much for so little, a palm pixi plus on AT&T needs a 2 year agreement and i can get one here on PAYG no strings attached for a smidgen over £150on O2. The fact is i have seen kids as young as 10 with their blackberries, heck i even saw a 9 year old with a torch yesterday even i thought that was abit excessive, so im asking yu , are blackberries losing their touch ?
