come to think of it, how much more advanced can our gadgets be, how much larger can the screens be and still be usable, how much thinner nd lighter can they be before we mistake them for paper ?
when i get down and dirty and try to think of things, i personally didn't think we would ever go past 1Ghz in processors , now we are getting 1.2Ghz single core processors , and 1Ghz DUAL core processors, which give you 2Ghz worth of grunt and that is just phenomenal, i also remember when 256MB (yes MB) of RAM was so great , and the best at the time now we have phones with standard 512 MB or even 756MB , and even 1 phone (the motorola ATRIX) pushing the barriers and giving us 1GB of RAM and all this is just over a decade ago.
how about screens, theses are things that we use most often because its what we see , and like a i said just a few short years ago, resolutions like 240x320 were awesome on phones , now devices like the iphone 4 the motorola atrix and droid bionic are pushing that the iphone has the "retina display" which has a resolution of 960x640 pixels on a 3.5inch screen giving you the highest pixel density on a mobile device, so high in fact its higher than your human eye can differnetiate between , basically its so high res you cant see the pixels, the you have the Atrix and DROID bionic , they both had what motorola calls qHD displays which is a resolution on 960x540 on a 4inch display ( for the ATRIX) and a 4.3inch display (droid bionic) these may not be retina slashing resolutions but these are the highest resolutions on any android device and are also very hard for you to differentiate between the teensy tiny pixels on your screen.
what next ? im thinking big now , we've brought the boundaries this far, why not run with it, at the time of writing this on february 8th 2011 Texas intruments released details of the OMAP5 CPU's and SOC's, basically what the TI OMAP processor has , its sheer,raw power, its a quad-core mobile platform aparently there are 2 higher power cores capable of running "up to" 2Ghz and 2 lower power cores for menial tasks like transition effects and what have ya. Nvidia has only just broke into the mobile world with their Tegra II processor, but they are already talking about Tegra II 3D chips and even Tegra III which are (like the TI OMAP5 CPU's) Quad-core , and we all know how powerfull all these are in their single core forms ( apart from the tegra paltform theat was only ever dual-core).
im wonderin what we can do to best ourselves this time? even more high quality displays ? 8-core processors which sip batery juice like no-ones business ? you never know, leave your comments below.

just how long do we wait for wirelessly powered devices, with interactive holographic displays / interactive HUD's, multi-os booting in your pocket, as well as integration with everything?
