ZTE Skate gets a CPU boost ?

Last night at a ZTE event in london three phones were showed the skate, the libra and the tureis , whats funny is that since CES in january of this year where the skate was announced we always thought it would have the 800Mhz CPU that it was announced with, its not often that carriers change the CPU clok speed so close to launch, in recent memory i an think of 2 the Samsung galaxy S II getting boosted from a 1ghz dual core to a 1.2ghz dual core, and the HTC cha cha getting 800mhz from 600mhz.

dont get me wrong im happy that it got the spec boost, that makes the skate a much more viable smartphone option and will let ZTE get rid of the "budget" badge they seem to b carrying, the spec sheet will follow below.

  • 2G Network: GSM 900 / 1800 / 1900

the specifications of the libra and the tureis are less apealing and therefore are not meant to be for such a high performance orientated audience, i shall post the specs for the libra then the tureis.

now the Tureis is abit different from the skate and the libra, the skate and libra are both slates, they have no keyboard, they are full touch, the tureis has a Blackberry-esque Physical keyboard.

now as i have said before , the ZTE Skate is the unbranded version of the Orange Monte Carlo, and hopefully the Monte Carlo will also get the spec boost to 1GHz, if not i feel i will have to pa the teensy bit extra to get an unbranded version free of orange bloatware and their skin and therefore Untainted gingerbread (yummy).
