Samsung pulled an Apple... in a good way

Yes, i read the title as well,and before you start throwing comments down, read a bit further, Samsung has done what no other manufacturer (aside from apple) has been able to do, earlier today, Samsung announced plans for the Galaxy S III to our friends over the pond in the good ol' US of A , 5 carriers (Verizon,AT&T,T-Mobile,Sprint and US Cellular) are receiving the device, they are getting the 16GB and 32GB variants (no word on the 64GB model,but seeing as it hasn't been released here yet i'll let it slide) for Verizon and Sprint the 16GB model is $199.99 on a 2 year agreement and the 32GB model is $249.99 on a 2 year agreement,no pricing has been confirmed for the other 3, pre-order for Verizon is June 6th no word on when its coming to brick and mortar stores,pre-order for sprint is June 5th and coming into stores June 21st,no pre-order for T-Mobile but its being released on the 21st of June, pre-order for US Cellular is June 12th and its not coming to sale until July.

Now thats enough about that,now a bit on the Hardware front, AT&T,Verizon,Sprint and i believe US Cellular are offering their Galaxy S III's with LTE and T-Mobile,not having an LTE Network (yet) is launching it on it's 42Mbps HSPA+ network, and because of these network differences,there is no way they can have the Exynos 4 Quad (4412) CPU inside the US Galaxy S III's (or the Japanese, or the Canadian variants) so they have made a few changes, they have removed the Exynos 4 Quad and replaced it with the equally awe inspiring Qualcomm Snapdragon S4, and they said "sorry for taking away Quad-core, here's is another gig of RAM" giving it a total of 2GB of RAM ,squaring off against the LG Optimus LTE 2, and that is basically it.

And that last bit is why im so happy, they haven't changed the exterior hardware, even the Physical home button is still there on every carrier flanked by its two capacitive buttons, and the name is the same on every carrier, its the Samsung Galaxy S III, not the "Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III Epic 4G LTE Touch HD" , this is what i mean when i say they pulled an Apple, only apple has managed to launch a device on nearly every carrier (except T-Mobile) its the same name, its the same physical hardware, its the Same design, and thats what Samsung has achieved, they have gotten to the point where the Galaxy brand is so powerful they have enough weight to throw around to say to carriers (no we are keeping the looks like this, and the name like this" , all that changes between each model is the carrier branding on the backplate which is tiny and unobtrusive, and later this summer AT&T is going to offer a red variant.

So yes Samsung pulled an Apple, but they did it the best way possible, not by copying design aesthetics, not by slamming the competition, they just got enough balls to make it one device everywhere.

    Especially since I have a Samsung Conquer with Sprint & have been interested in upgrading to the Galaxy S lll.
    You've explained things to me simplified & not to technical like I've gotten a few times from the sales people in the brick & mortar stores,Thank You.

And guess what, it's doesn't lag,and the Minor bits of lag that are there are Touchwiz based,which are being remedied as we speak, same as the Larger Galaxy S4, which ad software glitches which caused it to lag, they are being ironed out as we speak. And yes, the Screen might not be HD, but it kinda does...

Why I'm not a fan of the OnePlus 2

Photo credit from GSMArena To those that Follow me on twitter it's no surprise to you that I was very underwhelmed with the OnePlus 2, but it's hard to explain why in 140 Characters, so here I'm going to expand a bit more on the things I’m not a fan of and why. First up is the USB-C Port. Now as we already know, USB-C the Port isn’t the same as USB-C W/USB3.1, the Damn USB-C, it's there,but not quite there. latter is the all singing all dancing version of USB-C, nothing has this yet (the closest we have so far is the new MacBook and Chromebook Pixel, that use most of this, except at USB3 speeds, or what has retroactively been called, USB3.1 Gen1). The OnePlus 2 though, like the Nokia N1 before it, isn't doing any of this, it hasn't got support for up to 100w, it doesn’t transfer data at the blisteringly fast 10gbps (USB 3.1 Gen2) or 5gbps (USB3.0/3.1 Gen1), no the USB-C port on the OnePlus 2 is USB2 based, that’s right 480mbps, same as microUSB in ph...
